The Site
This is the blog of Andy and Johanna. Except we don't blog frequently, and we don't blog about what we had for lunch or where we went on vacation. We didn't have a blog when blogging was cool. We don't have a comments section or a way to leave feedback or ask questions. We don't add new content to the blog in any particular sequence. So, it's not really a real blog, or much like a blog at all... it's just a collection of things we've done that some people might find interesting.
This is our blogish.
It started a few years ago as a little project for me (Andy) to learn/play-with a CMS (Drupal). But after a while I got fed up with having to constantly update Drupal due to security patches. Maintaining a suitable LAMP environment for site development became chore too, so I decided to simplify and at the same time learn about Bootstrap. This site is now just HTML, CSS, a bit of AJAX (to share menu code across pages) and some Bootstrap - that's all it needs to be. It's responsive, so it'll run on a phone as well as a widescreen PC browser.
The Andy
A Software Developer with some 25 years of professional experience in a broad range of industries (Asset & Capital Management, Defense, Local Government, Broadcast, Energy, Healthcare, and Banking). Born in the UK, got married, moved to Florida in 2000, moved to North Carolina ten years later. Somewhere along the line we managed to have two girls who tag along.
The Johanna
A Teacher (Pre-K, K, and Grades 1 & 2), gardener, wife, mother, social secretary, and organizer of the practical things in life. I can't say I fully understand the complexities of those responsibilities except to say it involves writing lists and throwing things out of the house if I don't move them frequently enough.
